Field
immersion have very much importance as a part of the course MA. Local Governance
and Development because, as part of field immersion students are staying in a
selected area for a specific period as part of the learning journey. At this
time they will visit various local institutions and interacted with elected members,
community, officials of the local government institutions and functionaries of
development organizations working in that area. The main objectives of the
field immersion was, to experience and analyses the governance issue and
development gaps in the study area. And to identify the potentials, resources
and scope for interventions by the local government institutions and
development organizations’ in the area to address the governance issues and
development gaps in the area. Through
this activity student will able to think about society as well as the social
problems faced by the common people other than class room learning.
